Other Resident Activities

  • Residents serve as a source of drug information to the Internal Medicine and HIV-AIDS Clinics.
  • Residents provide medication compliance counseling.
  • Residents assist with drug selection in accordance with various managed care organizations for the Internal Medicine and HIV-AIDS Clinics.
  • Residents provide patient education for diabetes, asthma, hypertension, coagulation disorders, and hyperlipidemia.
  • Residents conduct medication-use evaluations and performance improvement projects.
  • Residents conduct a clinical research project. The project is presented at the Southeastern Residency Conference in late spring of the residency year.
  • Residents may participate in the experiential education of first through fourth year pharmacy students from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Pharmacy.
